what kind of distribution would I use for my film?

when a film company is trying to distributed their film they have two options on how they would go and do this. the massive Hollywood blockbuster is distributed by the major studios such as paramount, Warner bros and Diseny. most of the major company own the production, distribution and exhibition. when you have this it make is very easy to make a film and the reason why all all major cinemas such as the "vue and cineworld" will feature all of the film that will make the big bucks as the gross profits are massive., now because of the majors it make it hard for the little film productions such a Tristan productions they don't have the resource to distributed and exhibit because most of independent films are made with a low budget and can't afford the marketing to put it into the the major cinemas.

you will find that all the little productions will go to the majors for help to be put into the major cinemas so they can just reach they target audience the only down point about this is that the majors keep most of the gross profit. if product company such as Tristan productions don't as for help from the majors then you will find that their film will be played in old cinemas or places that are known for arty exhibitions or on the internet.

The Italian Job Posteri personally feel that our film could reach the major cinemas if we did the right research and put the effort in our distribution. if we meet the majors and show our film and tell them the theme of a recreation of the old Italian job and made into a British classic and that our target audience is some one who likes old films, has the appreciation for what films are.

the Italian job from 1969 had help from little productions, this includes CIC video that has helped to make other films such as star trek vi; the voyage home (1986) and ghost fever (1987)  then help from the majors such  as paramount pictures as a distributor so the Italian job had the chance to make it into the majors and was nominated for a golden globe.
